I've had a few discussions regarding this, and I've been looking for an addon that already exists. So far, this is the only one I've found:


Which sort of fits the bill, but I'm not sure. Sometimes it's hard to tell how some of these addons actually work until you buy, install, and try.

At the very least, I think such a system should allow for one to put up a separate "dating" or "connections" profile, and then anyone who is "looking" would be able to join a completely separate section of the site, just dedicated to that (so that anyone else "not looking" would just be blind to this area (it would not clog up their feed).

I'm open to suggestions, wants, desires, etc. Any specific functionality. This could be something I have designed custom just for Observers.

The bare necessities of such a system would be designating a status and facilitating social connections to develop from that status. Designating the status could probably be incorporated into the existing profile settings similarly to how you can choose to display the flag of your country of origin (a ❤️?) With this setting, individual users can declare their disposition toward dating opportunities. From there, existing DM functionality is probably enough to allow interested parties to converse. My suspicion is that a thoroughly filled out profile would do much to convey the type of information commonly included in dating site profiles, but others may disagree.

I think the basics would be having a profile that has a short intro and at least 3 photos, a variety of "prompts," (something like "the best thing I can cook..." or "if I could teach one thing..."), a section of "hobbies, interests, and skills," and a way to DM someone you match with. I'm happy to help design with you if you want help.
 
Never been on a dating site so I can't really comment on features. But I'd be interested in participating.

A self rating star system on your profile would be nice. Something that indicates your level of potential as an end of the world warlord or apocalyptic princess
