It is a classic Hydraulic Ram Pump. Edward kunkle suggest the great pyramid was a hydraulic ram pump because inside it is. No plumber could argue. But theirs more to it when we add the pizoelectrical quartz rock. Imagine , getting electricity without boiling water to steam to turn a turbine . Might logistically impractical in the modern age but clearly it's possible.
That is a pretty good vid! Thank you for posting! This is what I've been planning on building when we develop a spring. I was just scouting possible spring locations on our retreat property with dowsing rods two days ago!
By letting the water run down hill and then closing the valve, water hammer is created to lift some of the water back up.
Unless the water coming out of the ram pump goes higher than the inlet port, why not just run the pipe from source to destination ?
Yes that can be done. By letting a large amount of water run for a long distance at even a flat .2% slope, the water hammer effect is enormous. Will crack pipe and bust concrete. 1908 (?) the inlet sluce gate was closed instead of the metering valve. When sluce was opened, water rushed in to fill the empty 1,800 feet of four foot pipe. Hitting a 90 degree turn the water went straight through.
Yes, this is an issue in homes. they have sealed water hammer arresters for pipes.
