Travel Water Floating Away

Thought I would start a thread for everyone to discuss various floatation options specifically designed for the crustal displacement event.

Different locations will require different design considerations. But many of the core ones will be the same.

For example, I live in the Great Lakes region. Floating away during winter will involve massive slabs of grinding ice...

Some terminology for us as a reference with some key differences.

A Boat is a marine vessel that is designed for the top 3 priorities:
  1. Float
  2. Move in a desired direction
  3. Stay upright
An Ark is a marine vessel that is designed for the top 3 priorities:
  1. Float
  2. Stay upright
  3. Hold cargo
A Barge is a marine vessel that is designed for the top 3 priorities:
  1. Float
  2. Hold cargo
  3. Move in a desired direction
They have other design priorities too, but the point here is that the primary purpose of an ark is floatability and stability. If I were to build a marine vessel to float away on here in continental North America, I would be building an ark, not a boat. But if I were living on an island in the South Pacific, I would be building a boat or a barge depending on my survival strategy.
