Good morning Observers. No coronal holes. Sun is quiet in 195 angstroms of ionized Iron. SOHO camera roll this morning. Just one very small C class CME detected. Yesterday’s CME to impact late tonight to tomorrow.

Kp index is quiet.



Yesterday’s CME to hit late tonight or early tomorrow. NOAA analysts say there is a 25% to 30% chance of G1-class geomagnetic storms on July 30-31 in response to glancing blows from CMEs. Auroras may be hard to see because of the full Moon.

Also, there is a triple stream of meteors.

Don't be surprised if you see a meteor tonight. Three streams of comet debris are intersecting Earth's orbit this week



Solar wind is very low with only two Phi angle flips.



A 5.8 Off Austrailia and 5.0 in Guatamala are the two earthquakes.



HF & short wave radio is quiet



Lastly, the Southwest Power Pool, SPP is under strain with a Dept of Energy exemption to run hard and exceed some pollution standards. High heat in central section also reducing corn crop yields.

Lake mead water level continues to drop, chasing the 2022 low water level.

Well done Bud!! I think Ben should be worried you are stealing his job tbh he’s excellent going thru the science pages, I really enjoy those, he’ll have a few to go thru I’m sure when he gets back.

Good to know about meteors… I wasn’t aware. We had a fantastic red moon last night in UK due to the wildfires in France. We are also desperate for rain here, being told to have shorter showers etc. I can see food shortages coming

Thank you @TechnoCaveman . I was planning to look into doing something similar today but was not sure where to post. I'm glad you beat me to it, you provided a lot more detail I would have been able to. Really, thank you.

Ben were telling us lately, longer than I can recall actually, how to look at the signals, sun, space and quakes. Most of us just listened and not really paid attention, accepting the spoon instead of trying to feed ourselves. Just maybe Ben's intention is that we S0s stop taking the spoon and start monitoring ourselves. But then again, each S0 doing it ourself, who will we warn except our inner circles when it is time for the trumpet? We will need to have the monitoring open to everyone for the trumpet to be heard when some are too busy herding.

Some spaceweather and quake watch apps do send notifications to the phones by the user's preferences. This could maybe be an early alert to some extent although, being able to read the signs as Ben tried to teach us, we might have a few more hours warning earlier that the actual event. Maybe we should get a proper S0 app that focus on the probabilty, warning us when there are concern or instability. This will still require actual human monitoring. Maybe an AI bot can be programmed to look for detail like a thin rope on the Sun? This will remove the human aspect only somewhat as a person should need to review the AI for a quite a while to determine accuracy. This can also be done by the S0s using the app.

The Carrington app is a good start. Maybe if this can be adjusted so that S0s can send concerns for review which alert a board of reviewers that there is a possible concern needing approval. The board then only need to adjust a warning level when needed, triggering an alert to the app. That way when any S0 sees something that might need to have eyes on, all app users are notified (once approved) and can keep an I on the development themselves. Reporting any changes can then lead to the increase or decrease of the warning level after review. The board of reviewers that need to actually approve will not need to constantly look and can only review once a request is received.

My last thought on this is that we should not loose the capabilities ourselves and try to do this monitoring ourselves as far and long as possible. Outside confirmations are of great help but each S0 communities should also be selfsustainable.

SKAN is doing an update. There was a splash page up on there last night saying you would have to re-do your link once it was back up or something. They should have sent several mass emails letting people know, the phone app is still up but it's in read-only mode apparently (can't create a new post)
