Guys and Girls, a big factor for boths these are the LLSVP. To confirm what is said, for EDC the tilt happen between the crust and mantle, with ECDO the tilt happen between the mantle and the core.
The LLSVPs are old magma tubes which originates from the core-mantle boundry layer. Also, this LLSVPs are present at least during the last few geomagnetic excursions. This would most like mean that ECDO are more accurate. Having said that, Methusela's video do an intersting view on both outcomes.
Some more of my personal thoughts are, it is fairly well determined that the Sahara was green 12ky back. We also know human life in the lower parts of Africa were very little before the more modern migration from the north. By my understanding, animals did survive on the Southern parts before the modern humans. Which is something to consider. Having said this, if a previous North Pole were within lower parts of Africa, the Sahara would have been at about Europe latitude. This might also just maybe allowed live on the far Southern tip where the San people might have originated. But this does not explain the animals and like of mass ice shearing over the landscapes as the ground would have been smoothed under the ice.
Tami did post a video on X showing the movement of the magnetic fields during LaChamp excursion. The magnetic fields and polarity moved quite a bit more than we we have seen lately thus far. The faster unstable movements will probably during the actual Earth tilting which makes the determination of the new temporary poles quite difficult based on current movement although Ben is 100% correct on the current paths. Also the weight balance of the crust as Ben has it makes alot more sense. This is under the believe than the LLSVPs are heavier then the surrounding crust. But the LLSVP as stated are old magma tubes and actual lava rock is very light.
Roger have tracked many monument alignments to Africa. My question is, if we go out to determine if there are monuments pointing to another location, let's say Australia, wouldn't there be enough evidence to conclude that as accurate as well? The red car effect.
The stone and tree magnetic orientation during previous excursions are probably the most accurate. The biggest issue with this is the actual orientation of the tectonic plates at that time. We believe the plates move slow but just maybe there as far greater movement and rotation of each plate during an excursion. The expansion on contraction of the globe as it rotates would have quite a big effect. The speed at which East Africa is plitting is much fastaer than thought and also recently Ben mentioned the paper where the directional movement were actually totally different from what any scientist thought it would be.
Just maybe ECDO and EDC are both wrong on the new pole location. There are no doubt that Greenland and Antartica were ice free within the last 24k years thus the poles did move, and rapidly as well. We should just remember, we will be entering a new cooled down phase of Earth and we need to be preparred for cold no matter where we plan to survive.
